My Travel Bucket List.

21 Feb

I haven’t actually made up my list yet, but I can definitely feel it coming. I am inspired almost daily about different places I hear about, see in movies or see pictures of. England is definitely a high priority when we get into international traveling… Australia is very beautiful and Im sure I wouldn’t ever be able to be sick of my own country’s beauty, so husband and I will be sticking to Australian travel for atleast the next 5 years. When we feel its right, though, the first stop will be England.

Now, I know England is full of beauty and fun, but one thing Ive always wanted to do is probably not on the Travel Bucket List of most people.

“…I bounded, leaped, and flew down the steep road [from Wuthering Heights]; then, quitting its windings, shot direct across the moor, rolling over banks, and wading through marshes: precipitating myself, in fact, towards the beacon-light of the Grange.”

 Chapter 17, Wuthering Heights.

I want to go to the Moors!

Wuthering Heights is my favourite book. I love absolutely everything about it. Heathcliff doesn’t scare me, and Cathy doesn’t annoy me nearly as much as she does other people! As a redheaded, freckly and pale AUSTRALIAN I can honestly say I even love the weather in the book.. It would suit me completely. Everytime I get into the car I exclaim “I hate this place! Why did my ancestors even get on the boat!”* 😦 I know its awful, but thats what Queensland in February will do to you. Somewhere freezing does seem heavenly some days, because here, in February I can’t even think about tights, coats and knitwear without sweating psychosomatically.

Anyway, moving swiftly on…  I can’t wait to one day visit England and to visit Jane Austen’s house, wander around London and play in the Moors.

This picture gives me serious Wuthering Heights flashbacks.

*I dont hate my country… I love it completely and I doubt I’d move even if given the chance.
