Day off!

8 Apr

We had the day off today, because its our anniversary on Sunday!

We went up to the Sunshine Coast because thats where we spent our honeymoon.

It was so nice up there (and cold!). Once we got up to Maleny we couldn’t see further than about 100 metres in front of the car because we were amongst the clouds! We went down to the beach at Caloundra too, we spent some time there on our Honeymoon.

It was great to reminisce.

The road in front of us!

On a normal, sunny day you would see a great view behind us.

The restaurant where we had breakfast this morning is right below our Honeymoon apartment. It was VERY convenient- especially for Andrew and his love of pancakes.

didnt notice until recently, but there is water on the camera lens. Oh well.

It was a great day.

10 Mar

I found my old blog from when I was 16… on msn spaces. Its amazing remembering all that went on back then! I found this one entry from just after my birthday in 2006.

27 April

boredome, bums!

well… im rather bored!
ive already told u about movieworld- kind of, so i feel theres nothing else to say.
life has been pretty dull since tuesday this week- around the time school commenced, actually.
Andrew came here on Tuesday…. its was fun and he was here for a long time compared to the normal amount.\
it involved fun activities…
what ever else shall i say?
well, on saturday me and amber, jo and angelas friend rachel are going to angelas house coz its her birthday on Monday- shes going to be as old as i am!!!- ancient-like.
what else? tomorrow is cross country and i am going because a)Jo wants me too and b)Andrews snorkelling so theres no point in being home early. itll be ok, the worst part will be wearing the sports shirt- coz ill never ever wear the full sports uniform in my life!
oh and i shant…….. run. running in these things is for the little grade 8s and the sporty-types, which, despite losing some weight recently ( noticable to others or not) is not me.
Can i tell you something about Movieworld and other scary places? it would be WONDERFUL if there was a lacking of PEER PRESSURE- now, when in grade 7 and such, i was told that in high school i would be pressured towards taking drugs and having sex… i am yet to meet with such things, but when in theme parks i understand what they meant about peer pressure- its a horrid force within other humans ( your peers) which compels them to try and convince you to go on rides that you really dont want to.
If only they were pressuring me towards drugs and sex- it would be so much easier!!!
alas, the world will not change by my meaningful writings on msn spaces…
love m
ha! I still have that opinion about peer pressure! I dread theme parks.

Alice’s first swim at the beach!

18 Jan

This weekend we went to the Gold Coast to give Alice her first swim on a beach, (she’s already swam in a pool). She didnt really like it, and only went in to get her ball. Andrew was very disappointed and really wants a dog that loves water.

After that, I wandered around and took photos while Andrew went swimming at the human beach, which is significantly better looking

Our New Years Celebrations… or lack thereof.

4 Jan

I have never really been excited about celebrating the new year. I tend to be the sort of person who thinks of it as just another day… you know, one of those boring ones! Andrew however, has always wanted to celebrate, or ATLEAST stay up to midnight, even if he’s just at home while he does it.

This year, my mums friend from Victoria came to visit. She arrived at 11pm on the 31st of december, and since Andrew and I both love her we were going to go with my mum and stepdad to pick her up. So we weren’t intending to really celebrate the new year, but we were going to stay up for it.

So it gets to be about 7.30 and we are both sitting on the couch, Andrew reading while I blog stalk. Mum was due to pick us up at 10pm.  Andrew decides to move to the bedroom… and at about 8.30 he FALLS ASLEEP! I was shocked, but I figured I’d wake him up at 9.30 and he’d come to the airport with me, but when I do he tells me that he’s too tired to come with me. I threatened to tell his mum, because she is really enthusiastic about new years and would be quite appalled. He begged me in a tired, whingey voice not to, and then went back to sleep, and stayed that way untill 7am the next morning!

I ended up taking the little girl instead of Andrew.

It was a great long weekend with Rebecca from Victoria. We went for a long walk, had good conversations and went shopping. I actually bought clothes in real life! I usually only buy clothes on ebay because its easier, cheaper and there are no patronizing shop keepers.

So even though our New Years celebration was not what you would call a celebration, I loved it and would rather do it every year than go out and dance about untill the morning light.

Our First Christmas.

26 Dec

Yesterday morning would have to be the first time in so long, that I’ve woken up excited for Christmas morning. I love Christmas, but since I stopped getting kids toys for Christmas I’ve been less enthusiastic… untill now.

Yesterday was mine and Andrews first married Christmas (and Alice’s first Christmas ever)..I was so excited! We were already getting up at 3.30 to open presents and then go to my grandma’s house and help cook the Christmas lunch, but I kept waking up from 2.30 excited!

Alice and I

After we helped Grandma alot we went to my mums to drop Alice off there for the day… and came back and had Christmas lunch with everyone. It was great.. I am almost a vegetarian (Its complicated, but I dont eat meat except at my Grandmas… She puts such a little amount in that Im not forced to think about it. My vegetarianism was never a concious decision, I stopped eating meat because I couldnt stand to eat it because I’d always think about where it came from… so when Im able to not do this I do eat it.) but I ate some Turkey on Christmas Day… it was lovingly prepared by my Grandma and I dont feel bad about it 🙂

Turkey, Stuffing, Roast Potatoes, Parsnip, Carrot, Peas... YUM

Grandma always makes a few Christmas Puddings, but I really dont like cooked fruit… neither does Andrew. So we got little mini Trifles each.

Ancient Santa

My engagement ring, picture taken with my Christmas Present.

Normally, I would just go home after Grandmas, NOT eat dinner and play with my Christmas Presents or watch Carols etc… but since Andrew and I got married in April and this was OUR firt Christmas, we went to visit his mum.

We didnt eat anything there but his Aunty, Grandma, Brother etc were all there and it was nice to see them.

David and Tessa.

This is Andrews Brother, David and his girlfriend Tessa, who I work with. David is home from the army for six weeks. He’s a funny boy. He’s actually older than Andrew, but way shorter. His mum said she could always tell where he was when he was marching in the army because there would be a person sized gap between two people, and she would know he was inside it somewhere.  I hope they get married. I love both my potential sister-in-laws at the moment.

Our first Christmas was perfect.

An answered prayer.

6 Jul

We had the best weekend! The standout thing about it though, happened on the 3rd of July.

We went to the video shop, and on the door was a lost dog sign, and it said that the Newfoundland missing was very old and not very well. Also, that he needed his ‘special dog medicine’ or he’d die.

This made us very sad, and I suggested we pray about him… we did while we were walking into the supermarket. About ten minutes later we were walking back to the car and we saw the missing dog being walked by his owner, and the man was taking down all the signs! I was so happy I cried.

It really amazed me. The most amazing thing about it wasn’t that he found his dog, rather that I saw that the dog was found. I would have thought about the lost dog for weeks, if I hadn’t seen him.

🙂 The weekend was amazing other than that too. We spent Saturday night eating pasta, drinking non alcaholic wine and watching Shrek.

On Sunday we went to church, shopping and then to Max Brenner on the Gold Coast.

Oh, and one last thing- WE’RE GETTING ALICE ON SATURDAY.

Last night.
